The Reason Why.
All of us through life experience the challenges to achieve our goals. We all question where we come from and where we go to. Sometimes we are in the time frame of building a family or a career or both. These are the events. The one element that runs through our lives is the energy that sustains us. The energy we are made with, born with and depart with.
Through our worship of God we connect to that energy in a direct way, in a way that we are aware of. When our worship is constant we become more stable in our lives and our thoughts become calm.
The discipline of praying daily builds our strength and directs us on to a positive path away from all the disturbances in life. We develop an inner voice that gives us positive answers to our questions and leads us to take positive steps in our work, relationships and personal development.
We can through our worship find a peace that stays with us. That heals us and gives us hope. With hope and belief we can face those challenges and change our lives to become productive, positive, and we can lead worthwhile lives.
When we realize the Supreme Goddess Jagad-dhatri and understand the sanskrit of her name which is mother, world, hold and nurse we can relate to her in a personal way. There are many texts on the worship of the Supreme Goddess Jagad-dhatri, and pujas take place all over the world in worship of such a beautiful powerful Supreme Goddess. It is for ourselves to discover such a beautiful Goddess Jagad-dhatri, and for ourselves to understand that her energy is in everything.
The Goddess Durga becomes and develops through her experiences into the most powerful Goddess and is therefore now The Supreme Goddess Jagad-dhatri who is the mature Goddess. Therefore when we read or listen to the Durga Saptashati we are also reading about the GREAT SUPREME GODDESS JAGAD-DHATRI.
The Meaning And Realization Of Puja.
The word 'puja' consists of two letters 'pa' and 'ja'. 'Pa' means 'parayana' or continuous repetition of the names of God and 'ja' means 'japa' or continuous mental recitation of the names of God..
Puja also means 'pu' means pushpam or flower and 'ja' means 'jal', from the sanskrit word 'jalam meaning water. The letter 'ja' can also mean simultaneously from the word 'japam'. At puja worship both flowers and water are offered. Also pu means 'purusha' and 'ja' means 'janma' to arise or wake up, meaning that one receives a new life and new consciousness, with the partaking of prasad. Prasad means food that has been blessed. 'Pra' and 'sad' means that which is near life and truth.
Through discipline in worshiping God we find a path that is clear.
The sage Narada Muni and his teacher.
Narada approached Sanatkumara and said. 'Sir teach me.'
'Come and tell me what you know,' he replied 'and then I will teach you what is beyond that.'
Narada told him everything he knew and said. 'Help me to cross over to the other side of sorrow'.
His teacher said. 'Verily, whatever you have learned here is only a name.'
'That which is Infinite- That, indeed, is happiness. There is no happiness in anything that is finite. The Infinite alone is happiness. But this Infinite one must desire to understand'. From the Chhandogya Upanishad V11. 1 and 23-26.
Happiness meaning inner peace within the self. The self that is in the heart. This is in connection with the Supreme Goddess who lives within the five sheaths.
"The self is below, the self is above, the self is in the west, the self is in the east, the self is in the south, the self is in the north. The self is all this,--- delighting in the self--- one becomes one's own ruler, and wins freedom to move in all worlds. But those who know it in other ways are ruled by others, live in perishable worlds, and win no freedom to move in all worlds". Upanishad V11. Chapter 25.
Please see web page the five sheaths. It is the goal of the person to clear the energy blocks within the person, and obtain a path for that energy of the individual soul, to go to the crown chakra which meets God.
Goddess Durga who is an aspect of The Supreme Goddess Jagad-dhatri. The great sage Narada Muni along with his followers are all worshiping her.
